The work carries on.
The family history belongs to the same one shop on Shelbyville Road.
1924
The bakery moves to Shelbyville Road in St. Matthews.
1927
An ice cream works is added. Plehn’s still makes ice cream on site.
1937
The Ohio River flood becomes part of the bakery’s family history.
1945
Bernie Bowling, Sr. buys the bakery. It passes to his sons, then their children.
Today
The fourth generation of the family carries on at the one St. Matthews shop.
